On the one hand, Mr. Wolff was the first of these Spanky-Shits-the-Bed tell-alls, and he made one hell of an impression. On the other hand, Mr. Woodward has the notoriety and experience of Watergate. I'll give it to Mr. Wolff in sales unless even more damning/salacious excerpts are leaked from Fear in the week left before its release. What do the rest of you here think?

(143 posts)I'm just curious about whether it will outsell Fire and Fury. Out of all the books released this year, this one might be the only book to do that. Knowing Woodward's skill and reputation, it might also actually affect this terrible administration to a devastating extent (sadly I don't think Fire and Fury quite did that except maybe for killing off Bannonism in the United States).

I don't know how long or if Wolf's book lead the list, but Woodward's book should soon top it.

(115,757 posts)and, of course, he and Carl Bernstein were the first reporters (and for awhile, the only ones) to undertake a serious investigation of the Watergate break-in. Woolf, on the other hand, was known more as a tabloid reporter, mostly as a contributor to Hollywood Today. So Woodward has much more solid creds, and despite some of the juicy stuff in Wolff's book, Woodward's report is scarier. I think it will sell better than Fire and Fury.
