President Donald Trump lashed out Republican critics of his administration during a wide-ranging interview with the conservative Daily Caller website published Tuesday.
Trump singled out Republican political strategists Matthew Dowd and Ana Navarro for criticizing his administration.
You look at these panels of people, the worst are the panels. You look at this guy Dowd on ABC, I dont even know who the hell he is, Trump said, though he later admitted Dowd had visited him in the Oval Office.
Dowd was the chief strategist for President George W. Bushs 2004 re-election campaign.
Hes just horrendous, hes supposed to be a Republican, Trump added.
Trump then attacked the Nicaraguan-born Navarro.
Ana Navarro, shes sick. I mean, shes sick, he repeated.
The hatred, he complained.
Navarro shrugged of Trumps criticism, saying it was an honor.

(3,473 posts)It's disturbing to think that if Putin offered Trump certain services, he would accept. I'm kind of surprised something hasn't happened yet to any of his critics

(19,074 posts)And he and those around him are working hard so that he'll eventually have the power to throw his critics in prison. He looks around the world at the dictators he admires and knows that jailing your critics is the perk he most covets. His raid followers will demand public executions of liberal politicians if he's ever allowed to jail them.

(27,815 posts)She worked for Jeb Bush in 1998; the Bushes effectively stole the 2000 election, set a pattern for how to suppress the vote and steal elections, and then loaded the Supreme Court with people who voted for Citizens United and for dismantling the Voting Rights Act.
Sometimes I feel as if I'm howling in the wilderness. The 2000 election set the table for 2016. Everything that we thought was going to be bad then has proved to be true. And the very enablers from that time, the Ana Navarros of the world, suddenly act all surprised and guileless.
Back when Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris were busy knocking voters off the Florida rolls with Choice Point, back when the 2000 recount was stalled, back when an honorable man like Al Gore (who would have made thoughtful SCOTUS choices) was being mocked and raked over the coals by the Bushes and their surrogates - maybe that's when she should have started crying foul.
Do I think Trump is mischaracterizing her and crossing the line? YES. Do I think she brought some of this on herself (and the rest of us?) You bet.
