This boy should have had a few more practice sessions.
He stutters, his eyes do the ping-pong thing, he squirms like a perp being questioned by Sipowicz on NYPD Blue.
It's been a fascinating game of back-and-forth...the Republicans praise him and encourage him to discuss the warm and fuzzy details of his life, the Democrats say "HEY Buddy...we know WHO you are and WHAT you are."
He handles adoration MUCH better than he handles scrutiny.

(53,410 posts)He doesnt seem to have much of a repertoire as far as facial expressions. He sure doesnt seem to have a poker face at all.
Unfortunately for him no matter what face he puts on his looks are boyish, and not in a cute way. Come to think of it maybe thats why hes so mean. Im sure the high school jocks threw him against the wall a few times, so he decided to be a bully like them, only from a position of geeky power.
The girl behind him seems to be very still today. Obviously someone told her she was getting critizised online. All I can say is welcome to the real world, where people on the other side get to comment, fair or not!

(16,928 posts)GAWD, loved that guy - what a great character!
But, what about letting Bunk or McNulty from "The Wire" do the questioning?
And, as to the "William Tell Overture: AKA - "The Lone Ranger"............
The Lone Ranger: "Tonto, wake up, we've got a problem - we're surrounded by Indians!"
Tonto: "What do you mean, 'We?'"

(1,058 posts)What did his children do to deserve your disdain?
eleny
(46,166 posts)Let them understand who he is.
And how many children will his policies affect? I'm sure he feels his family is insulated. Republicans went after Dukakis through a scenario involving his wife. Republicans never see the families of adversaries as off limits. It's not a matter of disdain for his kids. It's just that we're fighting a very deadly fight here. You want to be a Pollyanna go ahead. Just forget finger wagging at me for going for a jugular. Talk to the hand.

(1,058 posts)his politics?
So sad.
From everything I've read of him, he's a good father and husband, yet there are those that wish to destroy that relationship because of his politics.
To me. that's abhorrent.
Just my opinion.

(16,111 posts)if your father is scum, better to know than grow up being just like him.
It isn't his politics, it is his lack of character that they should see and recognize.

(1,058 posts)they seem to be a tight knit family, but if you want to try to destroy that relationship, I, IMO, is abhorrent.
Again, just my personal opinion.

(16,111 posts)relationship.
I do, however, wish I'd known who some people in my life were earlier. I'd have made some different choices.
Also, HE chose to bring them to a hearing where he knew he would be asked about his actions. He is choosing for them to hear and see what a piece of work he is, not anyone else.
Frankly, it is unfortunate that, like Mike Huckabee, he will very likely raise humans who will lie, cheat, and steal to get what they want without a second of regret at having done the wrong thing, while declaring others morally inferior for not following their particular religious beliefs.
Your assessment of him sounds rational to me. He's not the kind of role model I'd want for any kid I know.

(872 posts)Dog & Pony Show. Not sure why they're wasting their time, when the outcome is already set in stone.
If he admitted that he assured Drumpf that he would stand in the way of any subpoena, or if he said he couldn't wait to overturn Roe V Wade, every repub would still vote for him. And maybe a few Dems as well.
But I know people here think having the Democrats ask questions is the best way to go, so enjoy!

(6,556 posts)if the right circumstances arise. This is my hope since the republicans will confirm anything with an (R) behind his name. Yes, Kavanaugh is a registered republican.

"When the father of a girl killed in a school shooting earlier this year attempted on Tuesday to shake the hand of President Donald Trumps Supreme Court pick, he was visibly snubbed.
"Now, the father says Judge Brett Kavanaugh winked at him just moments before he was detained by Capitol police..."
