I am not going to join the people speculating about who you are, because frankly it does not matter.
You pretty much lost me when you said THIS:
To be clear, ours is not the popular resistance of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous.
Whoa, instant failure. First of all, while many wearing the badge of "Democrat" were so eager to make nice, to pour libations at the altar of John McCain, many of us knew that the policies that the GOP PARTY pursued were BAD FOR THE COUNTRY. They did make people poorer, they did get us in debt, and they made America a whole lot less safer, especially in the classrooms where our children have to worry about being shot, or if they are going to be shamed by the Lunch ladies because they are poor! We told you about the harm you were doing to people, and frankly, you just blew cigar smoke in our faces and had security throw us out. Now, you are like Faust, realizing that selling your soul is not going to give you any advantages when it is time to drag YOU to your Doom! the same friends you used to laugh with as children and others were hauled to the furnace will be the same people laughing AT you, especially when Trump has made betrayal a virtue.
YOU fed this monster, you hoped to ride him to the heavens!
and frankly, you have not gained any wisdom. Let's look at this pearl of wisdom you offer.
Dont get me wrong. There are bright spots that the near-ceaseless negative coverage of the administration fails to capture: effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more.
First off, Tax reform = the billionaires just taking more and more. These are the same billionaires that have turned Congress into lapdogs, with bribes and kneecap threats. We have a legislative branch that is in effect a SERVANT of the executive. Effective regulation?, more like a chance for every corporation from internet giants to toxic polluters to literally get away with murder. As far as that more robust military, talk to many of the soldiers that have already had their lives ruined, and the expensive JUNK they have to work with which has proven useless, namely because everybody from the Russians to the Chinese has already been sold the blueprints, and has made strategies to counter us. Betsy Devos is gutting our education, and her brother is helping the CHINESE make private armies that Xi Jinping can disavow, in effect, the modern day game of privateers, private pirates, the same ones that will be shooting at our soldiers while the new aristocrats dives past their funerals in Limousines!
So, spare me the song..the fact you invoked McCain shows how much you soil his name. I may have thought JM was a SOB a lot, but he would have the guts to put his name forward, and NOT hide behind a pen name!
So to you, be you a cabinet member, melania, or whoever, know this: You have dynamited the sense of common good will that kept this country together! When, and oh yes, it will be a When, we rebuild, heal, and oh yes redesign the foundation of this nation, rest assured, some of us will point at you, and make sure you get buried in the same trench as the Steve bannons, or for that Matter, the Mikas, Joe Scabs, Koch borthers, etc.
You have made life Hell for your fellow citizens, and you are about to taste it!

Look Anonymous, you and the rest of you greedy, amoral, power addicts are responsible for that monster you've been enabling. Don't you dare shift the blame onto us. We are not the ones allowing him to do anything; you are.
"We have sunk so low with him and allowed our discourse to be stripped of civility."
Yes. You have. So what are You going to do about it?
By the way, your pay master bragged about assaulting women, mocked the disabled, insulted a POW and a Gold Star family, allowed that nazi and white nationalist mobs could have among them "fine people". So, put that "what we as a nation have allowed" where the sunshine can't get to it.
It's all on you, Puddin'.

Mr. Anonymous: Come forward, put COUNTRY OVER PARTY and forget about your GOP self serving interests. Come out in the open, start getting procedures in action to get him out of office ASAP! Be a true AMERICAN, not a greedy GOP traitor.

(530 posts)It sounds very much like what SHS was spewing on Fox (there was a link to the video on the home page today of her). I think it was just a way to get some talking points out about how great things have gone for the Repugs. Their hard work at rolling back any progressive policies since the New Deal is really paying off! Keep the clown in power as long as they can so they can continue decimating our social safety nets, education, healthcare, the environment, etc. Oh, but please do remember the good things: the "tax reform" (cutting taxes for the wealthiest among us), the military (continue to privatize and increase profits to shareholders using taxpayer dollars), "effective deregulation" (pollute, pollute, pollute without worrying about any consequences), and the list goes on and on. Fifty years ago, these people would have been sent to a state-run sanitarium for observation. Of course, since healthcare has been privatized, there are no such places anymore.

(15,806 posts)whoever it may be, knew damned well what Trump is when they signed on. To get all pearl-clutchy at this rather belated date suggests something other than concern for the country; concern for Trump-affiliated investments is more likely. And a call coming from inside suggesting a 25th Amendment remedy smells a bit like hoping for a softer financial landing than would follow criminal convictions. So, yeah, color me cynical.
