It would be fuckery. A deception. And the NYT publishers would not do it.

All the talking heads are emphasizing that the NYT wouldn't have accepted an anonymous editorial unless the writer was a very high-level official (they know who he is, obviously).

who he was. They have their own reputation to protect and they wouldn't have published an anonymous piece by someone claiming to be a WH official unless they knew for sure who it was.

This piece sounds like it's someone who's involved regularly in high-level policy decisions of the sort that vice-presidents don't usually get involved in. And Pence would probably include some kind of reference, even if veiled, to religion or God or social conservatism (he can't help himself).

That's the way religious nuts look at anything they don't agree with. "Amorality" is too objective.

They would love to plug Pence in and ditch the crime boss-in-charge I bet.

That way Kavanaugh and Pope Pence could really get the ball rolling on the Holy Amerikkkan Empire.

Unless he's covering his butt by claiming he would be fired... Until they come forward we won't know for sure. Perhaps a mid level staffer whose name we don't know. If it is one of the "big guys" my vote would be Mattis, Coats or Pompeo. Dark Horse would be Boulton... Now doing this anonymously is chicken shit IMO unless it is priming the pump with the public for the hatchet coming down on Trump in the immediate future. A way to soften the blow with his supporters....

but I DO think it's someone who might want to run for the presidency him/herself. I just read the article and find it offensive. Especially the idea that there are "unsung heroes" running around the WH "undoing" or undermining the acts of 45. HEROES??? I think there is enough obsequiesness to the party and to others in the party that this writer is not as high level as we might be thinking, and also that he/she is highly ambitious. No idea who that is.
