(31,112 posts)Personally I have taken shit from liberals for years that I was too harsh on cons.

(88 posts)I'll be even more specific -- it began in earnest with the firing of the striking air traffic controllers.
And it's impossible to be "too harsh" on cons.

(31,112 posts)One of my best friends did this routinely because he felt some cons were good people.
And some were, but not anymore. Hell, most liberal politicians like Al Franken or Schumer or whoever will tell you I am WRONG about cons, that they arent all bad. They believe that too and they know more than I do.
But, I see what they do at the end of the day, everyday, and I dont buy it.
And I dont think those Democrats do it because of the good ole boy thing, I think they really do see a side of them that we dont see and they sincerely like each other.
But those days have to be done, over, for our sake.

Rachel Maddow MSNBC Retweeted Sen. Patrick Leahy
This is important...
We have discovered evidence that Judge Kavanaugh misled the Senate during his 2004 and 2006 hearings. Truthfulness under oath is not an optional qualification for a Supreme Court nominee. Watch as I question him here:

(33,356 posts)Why not? We have an illegitimate occupant in the White House and very likely many illegitimate occupants of the House and Senate. Might as well have criminals as Justices.

(34,412 posts)Tribalism is so ingrained these days, Why else would almost 80% of Republicans still support Trump? You have much more faith in the American people than I do. I hope you're right and I am wrong.

Time to make some phone calls.

(58,785 posts)In any other era this'd be another Watergate, in this one just another crime on a list so long who can begin to remember. By what the Republicans have become, power is used mostly to commit crimes against the nation, legally actionable and otherwise, and avoiding consequences.

(2,569 posts)after Kavanaugh is confirmed. This is part of why there is such a huge rush. Feeling absolutely sick right now.

(11,885 posts)Will only make themselves more venerable to losing this upcoming election from the backlash they'll face from the American people. This will swing control over to the Democrats , and they'll realize and regret this disastrous mistake for liar kavanaugh's confirmation , and for they way they've corruptly ran this process.A lot more will become exposed about kavanaugh that republicans knew about, and were desperately trying to prevent it from coming out, and will make them look even worse. kavanaugh is a fraud and a liar.

(2,569 posts)but watching this is painful. Hearing Lindsey Graham reassuring Kavanaugh that he will be confirmed made my stomach turn.

(2,120 posts)Every time he gets called out for something, he picks up
his pen and starts making some notes. This allows him to
delay or avoid making any direct response. Sen. Leahy says
"I wasn't born last night" and he seems to feel the need to
make a note of the fact.
