Question about SC and Kavanaugh

Okay, Im not from the USA.

After the hearing, Im guessing there is a vote on whether he gets on the SC.

Does the vote happen quickly??

Before the mid terms????

Secondly, if he does get to the SC, does that make it, 5-4 to the republicans.

If so, of course the question of Roe Versus Wade comes out, who decides the cases
the SC hears? The SC???

How long will it take for that case to get to the SC?

Then the entire Senate votes. It can happen quickly but we usually know before it happens. If the Republicans have their way, it will be before the mid-terms.

The SC is supposed to be non-political, but there are conservative views and liberal views, and it would be 5 conservative and 4 liberal if Kavanaugh is confirmed.

The entire court decides any question that comes before the SC that they agree to hear, unless (in the rare case) that a Justice recuses him/herself.

Roe v Wade will not be decided again. They don't retry cases. There will be cases about rights surrounding Roe... access to clinics, things like that... that they may hear. I don't know if there's a case like that working its way up through Appeals.
