Paul Ryan: Obama ‘Passed Nearly Every Item On His Agenda’ In First Term

Paul Ryan: Obama ‘Passed Nearly Every Item On His Agenda’ In First Term

Freshly minted Mitt Romney running mate Paul Ryan told a crowd in Norfolk, Va., Saturday that President Obama accomplished what he planned to in the first two years of presidency.

“He passed nearly every item on his agenda,” Ryan said. “But that didn’t make things better.”

That ought to be the Obama campaign's next ad: Ryan admits Obama has accomplished alot.

Ryan and his cohorts stopped Obama from doing more to make things better.

They plotted against him.

What a whopper! I can see that picking Ryan won't be changing the "tone" (or honesty) of the Romney campaign. *ugh* Too many lies already today to comment on. Suppose he didn't notice that stimulus brought down unemployment, kept a lot of states from going bankrupt.

I'm from Michigan and can only speak for here, but things are a TON better than they were 4 years ago. People by the fistfull aren't losing jobs, having to move, and then try to sell their houses at a 30% loss anymore. That's where my neighborhood was four years ago. Things are not great yet but they're much better.

Like a New Deal for the 21st Century?

Like ending the wars for profit?

Yeah.

Or that economic indicators are showing that the economy is unambiguously moving in the right direction?

(Agree that Ryan is horrific.)

or at least the people that Ryan is aiming at don't care. Obama is not going to run ads claiming he passed a lot of legislation, he's going to run ads showing he got results for people. More than that, he is going to run ads attacking Mitt Romney.

"Obama is not going to run ads claiming he passed a lot of legislation, he's going to run ads showing he got results for people."

...I think they can work the first part of Ryan's comment into an ad like that.

Come to think of it, the entire comment could work nicely in well-crafted ad.

TV historians might rank presidents by the number of bills they get signed, that's fine, I like history and I like trivia, but there's tons of people unemployed out there and if the president comes out and brags how many laws he signed, I don't think it's going to help him.

If Obama is going to answer this, he should say, no, there is more I want to do and will do in my second term. The problem with this is whether people believe he can do it. I think his best bet is to ignore it and keep hammering Romney.
