I think Joe Scarborough got "advance" notice of the Ryan pick before Friday's show

yesterday...he was touting Ryan pretty hard and seemed to have his inside the beltway talking points ("Ryan knows how Washington works&quot .

It wouldn't surprise me if certain media folks were let in on the secret early and told what the campaign wanted them to say...

4. Friday's show is up on the Morning Joe page at msnbc.com

They break it down helpfully in separate segments and there is one on the discussion I am referencing.

Of course, I could be wrong and Joe just had his talking points just in case the pick was Ryan...but in hindsight I am still suspicious...oh, well, not that it matters now...

2. I doubt it. That was Joe S dreaming of a policy debate which is he going to get.

He also was enthused about Christie, more so to me.

I don't know that they intended to throw so much of the spotlight on Christie as they wound up doing...

The post on DU made it sound entertaining though. Poor Mika, she really does have to assert herself or she will be talked over by everyone.

I'm surprised she hasn't tried to strangle him. He drives her nuts.

8. I agree, dkf. Joe was using the ol' shotgun approach to try and look like he knew what was going on.

Joe "talked up" all of the possible veep candidates.
Hell, Mika even got involved in it, trying to make Chris Christy sound like he was the answer to all of Romney's problems, but it won't work.

Romney still has his income tax returns to release.
And the longer he refuses to release them, the less support he will have from common, ordinary folks who will wonder what he is hiding.

5. Scarborough's show is where the R sound machine test floats balloons at the beginning of the day

for those who don't stare glassy-eyed at the Faux channel. If the balloons are lead they fall to the ground. If they catch a wind, Rush and the rest of the RW bloviators chase them for the rest of the 24 hour news cycle.

"we" as in "all of us" are at fault for buying homes we couldn't afford and runnng up our credit card debt...even Mika was nodding, looking very serious. And, of course, that was the Wall St. Journal's big argument, too.

AFter that, I began to realize that MJ was laying out the RW spin first thing and set the tone...

I don't think all those editorials over the last few days from the right-wing about how Romney had to choose Ryan were written people who were not in the know, Romney had already picked Ryan and those editorials were likely planted to help rile up the base for the announcement.

but it also looked like another excuse to talk about "when I was in Congress". Scarborough is so flaky and undisciplined, I don't know if he could be trusted with a secret like that. But then again, that could be exactly what the Romney people wanted. Joe did seem like he was in conservative heaven and he had a certain GLOW about him.
