But Deplorables and plenty of Russian help dragged us into this shithole. With him on the campaign trail talking truth to power, maybe we have a chance this year.

Listening to him speak after listening to Trump's tirade over the NYT article just makes you wanna cry.😞

Why do the Deplorables rave over this ancient orange asshole who is clearly out for himself alone? Suicide pact?

He didn't vote in the election because he was too sick to go to the polls. I gave him a lecture on getting a ballot ahead of time to vote if you were incapacitated or out of the country on election day.

He was greater than we will ever know. It is so depressing to think about how low we have sunk.

The contrast is stunning.

I'm convinced that most of this backlash we're seeing is due to white people freaking out that they're fast becoming the minority.

I was in Trinidad over the New Year with my affluent, white in-laws. One day we were going to a restaurant, when we pulled up in our car a few blocks away, there were a group of Trinidadians hanging out, and I could see the panic and fear start to build. "Can you move the car any closer to the restaurant?" said one of them. (Trinidadians are some of the most ethnically diverse people you'll ever find, and about 80% have some African ancestry.) It was fascinating to watch my in-laws deal with suddenly being the minority race--they were terrified. I said, "imagine that this is how minorities in the US feel all the time!" to absolutely no avail. The irony was completely lost on them due to fear overriding rational thought. Just a small example of what we're up against.
