"Regulations" are actually "Protections"

That's how I refer to them; Repukes are good phrasing things, knowing that we all hate red tape that seemingly causes delays and extra expenses. So they make regulations seem bad.

HOWEVER---most regulations are actually protections (of our environment, civil rights, banking accounts, etc.) and those are the only ones THEY want to roll back or "reform."

Just another reason I hate them and hate listening to them

But, I agree 100% with you, they are protections. They were crafted to solve a societal problem and protect people, the environment and animals.

And they are often so simple we ever even think about them. Why do all emergency exit doors open out? Well long ago there a fire where the exit doors opened inward. The results were tragic. So we have simple safety feature written into building codes so that no designer,, owner or contractor ever makes another tragic error with their emergency exits.

"regulations are bad for business and the economy". People don't understand what they are really saying is that "measures designed to protect you and your health and well-being is getting in the way of corporate profits!"

Fuck them and their greed!
