Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsMy 2 trumper coworkers are suddenly joining our union - hummm. One is dumb & the other dumber.
Dumb is a loud mouth, and dumber is quiet (because he's embarrassed himself so many times). But as workers are losing rights, and administration is emboldened and becoming more abusive under Trump, these 2 would probably be the first to come under scrutiny. Quite frankly they're embarrassments. So wouldn't you know they're suddenly joining the union. - hypocrites. Oh - and the nightly custodian - racist Trumper & biggest slouch I ever met. What is with these Trumpers????

(4,251 posts)They would both happily accept the raises and benefits we negotiate. But both came to the realization that they would have no representation or protection from allegations, unjust termination, etc. Both self-serving individuals.

(3,032 posts)I have a boomer aged uncle who helped break the union at Sears automotive centers, back when we had malls an Sears. Sears fired him the day before retirement and he blamed the nonexistent union hed helped break several years before. These people you mention are light years ahead of my uncle. At least the see which side the bread is buttered on while there is still bread to butter.

(31,261 posts)You should have told him that his fate was sealed the very day he helped break the Union. Explain that when he did that, HE was responsible for losing the protection that would have prevented him getting fired as he did. People like him need to know that they are their own worst enemy.

(4,251 posts)first one to be excited about any union negotiated raises. And right now he's realizing that legal representation and support from the union might just benefit him in the future - and he needs to join to have that.

(6,797 posts)I think every thirty days. Always praising republicans and saying how bad dems are. We both retired from the same place, he sucked on the union teat for years now he puts them down every chance he gets. Says he doesn't support what the union stands for so he quit paying dues. Being retired we only pay two dollars a month. Think they will go broke without him? Pisses me off every time I see an article with his name on it.
