There is no downside in Obama "activating" voters. And stop interviewing Pukes who are "praying for the soul of the Republican party." They haven't had a soul in ages. Dump just happens to be their current spokesbarfbag.

(3,115 posts)This is war. And Pukes are the enemy. Besides, their "liberal" stars are getting the best ratings. Send her off on the raft with Greta Van Scaryface and Ghoul Hewitt.
Now she's interviewing a Latino woman drooling over Dump! Jesus.

(3,115 posts)Oy vey.
What I'm saying is that we do indeed need a leftist Faux News to battle Faux News because they're the strongest voice out there. With two months to go, there's no time to equivocate.

(23,337 posts)is someone who uses false equivalencies as a tactic to deflect criticism of the RW by stating that the left is guilty of the same behavior which just isnt true. Kacie DC, Chuck Todd, Steve Kornacki all use this tactic often. It is not only annoying as hell, it is highly inaccurate.

(6,551 posts)Your term involves false equivalencies which is a tactic that is both inaccurate and infuriating.
However, the term that I referred to means reporting all facts regardless of whether the facts favor Democrats or Republicans.
True reporters do that.
What's concerning is that there seems to be a preference for reporting only facts that favor Democrats and trashing those who won't do that.
spooky3
(34,481 posts)something really wrong, that is what should be reported. There should be no attempt to portray the other side as doing something equally wrong if the facts do not support it.
kstewart33
(6,551 posts)However, there seems to be a preference for "journalists" who only report information that favors Democrats. Those are not journalists; they are propagandists.

(37,748 posts)A journalist would not allow both sides of the story if discussing gravity or the shape pf the planet (entertainers do... journalists do not) because there is not other side to debate, and doing so would then deny that person being a journalist.
'Who, what, when, where and why' does not encompass the mostly irrelevant query "but what about them?" fallacy, used only to make argument and gain ratings.

(1,684 posts)I don't want a left wing Fox News. I want a professional show that gives all the news, and as a part of that, I also want to hear from all sides. If her show did not interview Republicans, that would constitute broadcasting malpractice!
I am not afraid to hear the full spectrum of viewpoints.....and.....it is NOT MSNBC's job or duty to push left of center political aims. It IS their job to give us all the information necessary for us to understand the issues and then make up our minds.
mythology
(9,527 posts)If my opinions are so fragile and delicate that they can't stand hearing another viewpoint, it doesn't say much for the courage of my convictions. Far too many think that it's wrong when Fox News is blatantly partisan, but it's just fine in the other direction because reasons.

(373 posts)It sounds very reasonable and in normal times, I'd agree. Maybe I've just lost all respect for Republicans at all. It's ugly, in a way.
It's like listening to "Independents" who "vote for the candidate and not the party." In my mind I wonder if they have anything they actually stand for.

I don't want a "left wing news channel like Fox". I want a real news channel and if the truth tends to be liberal, so be it. Actually the truth often does tend to be liberal, which could be why so many republicans go after the mainstream media.

(6,551 posts)She's whipsmart and does an exceptional job reporting her weekday beat, the House.
What's next - trashing every reporter/show host who doesn't conform to our desired version of the news? Banning Republicans and everyone else who we have a disagreement with?

I figured that maybe when she got a little older and seasoned, she might come across as creditable, but I find her painful to watch. Being in front of a camera just doesn't seem to come naturally to her. I feel like I'm watching a high school student.
