(11,738 posts)Trump is saying, "If by chance the storm isn't too bad and there is minimal damage, it was because I am so awesome. If there are any problems, it isn't my fault at all because I am totally awesome."

(57,457 posts)Joint Base Andrews is a United States military facility located in Prince George's County, Maryland. The facility is under the jurisdiction of the United States Air Force 11th Wing, Air Force District of Washington (AFDW). In 2009, Andrews Air Force Base and Naval Air Facility Washington were merged to form Joint Base Andrews.
The base is named for Lieutenant General Frank Maxwell Andrews (18841943), former Commanding General of United States Armed Forces in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. The base is widely known for serving as the home base of two Boeing VC-25 aircraft which have the call sign Air Force One while the President of the United States is on board.

(58,785 posts)Trump as much as possible. Those states have governors, who have huge jobs to do. Even lousy cabinet members probably have some very skilled and competent staffers carried over from previous administrations. FEMA's director is brand new in the position but an emergency management professional, and the agencies it coordinates should still have some people who know what they're doing.
The Republican house and senate are desperate to minimize loss of power on November 6, so I'm guessing they'll hop right to funding emergency relief, right up to November 7, anyway.
Trump, of course, is always the loose nut. As long as he doesn't order the federal government not to do their jobs or refuses to administer the laws congress passes...
The USNS Comfort, with a 1000-bed capacity, being held in the U.S., then in port in San Juan without being allowed to take on patients comes to mind.
