But two witnesses have said they heard the cop knocking on the door and demanding to be let in.

Who knocks on their own apartment door and demands to be let in?

No one.

If they go the grand jury route with a mostly biased white make-up they can present evidence in such a way, or not present, such as witness statements, to get this cop murderer off.
