Trump demanded small-donors pay back his $10 million investment in campaign: Woodward

https://www.rawstory.com/2018/09/purported-billionaire-donald-trump-demanded-small-donors-pay-back-10-million-investment-campaign-woodward/

Donald Trump’s lack of access to cash hindered his presidential campaign at a crucial point, veteran journalist Bob Woodward explained in his new book Fear.

Woodward explained the crucial role of son-in-law Jared Kushner, who, “without the title, was running the campaign, especially on money matters.”

In August of 2016, campaign chief executive officer Steve Bannon told Kushner that the campaign desperately needed Trump to write a $50 million check to the campaign for TV ads.

“He will never write a $50 million check,” Kushner replied.

I'm wondering if some of those small donors to Trump were some sort of bot program set up by Russia to filter additional millions to Trump's campaign. I was reminded of that early season storyline in Breaking Bad where Walter White first met Saul Goodman and he helped him set up a money laundering scheme disguised as a fundraiser where a computer program would send in dozens and hundreds of small donations to pay for Walter's healthcare, using his own money.
