Time for female leadership at CBS.

It is time for female leadership at the top of CBS and many other key positions onward. I would love to see programming that is not all geared toward men, which is typically sexual in nature (sexualizing women) or violent. There are so many shows now titled "Swat" or "SEAL". Common, enough.

I hope this shake up will bring in a balance of female/male equality for CBS and other networks. We might even see the media change its choices of story topics.

to change direction a bit in their programing. I too care little for the police/crime drama in different variations. It is time to put that genre to bed for a very, very long time.

And all those violent crime shows? Women are usually the highest watchers.

At work I very rarely hear men talking about NCIS or Criminal Minds. It is mostly married women in their 30s to 50s.

Those too are masculine, violent programs. It is time for a change in our culture.

I don’t know what you’re watching, but most shows nowadays are pretty diverse with ensemble casts featuring as many women leads as men. And sadly, that may be why ratings for scripted network TV continue to plummet in favor of “reality” nonsense.

the shows are masculine and sexual. If you can't see that, try watching for 6 months through the lens of noticing how sexual and violent the shows are.

Even the camera shots are women's cleavage and butt shots. The women have violent roles as well. Torture seems to be a favored topic for entertainment as well.

We need a change!!!

How much network TV are you really watching?

TV is nowhere near the level of sex or violence it was in the 90’s. When they unfortunately showed Dennis Franz’s fat ass for some reason.

I hope you take me up on my challenge to see the sexism and violence. Watch through a lens of noticing. You might be so used to it that you can't see it.

I grew up on The Rockford Files, Kojak and Streets of San Francisco when the writing was good.

Trust me I was not aware of the cleavage and butt shots on Blue Bloods or Madame Secretary, this is quite a revelation and must explain why my 80 something year old parents look guilty when I visit!
