She said ABC is the only one that has that story yet but she's taking it very seriously.

And the one they're saying he might be cooperating against is TRUMP himself.

HOWEVER:

The ABC report is that Mueller wants cooperation and Manafort's team is pushing back -- not that Manafort will be cooperating.

At first I thought I saw Paul Singer (Vulture Debt Capitalist)

But doesn't cooperate.. Trump pardons him.

He can't use that to take the 5th amendment. He has already incriminated himself.

What the heck can the prosecution do.

...he expected Pence to do the job once Trump was removed from office.

Now, it's gotten so toxic, Pence wouldn't be able to do it until he was voted out and had no consequences. And if he somehow succeeded in re-election, it would be much longer.

He needs to give Pence a reason to do so.

If I were Mueller, I'd take my chances and tell Manafort to fly a kite. Cooperate or no deal. Basta.

THe way his head is exploding these days, he's likely forgotten who manafort is.

Probably worried frump will soon be denying anything and everything about Paul real soon. It will undermine the coverup story if 45 pardons Paul after buckets of denials......

is Manafort's biggest concern.

has no loyalty to anyone. Let him sing away in a Russian gulag, not a luxury federal prison. Send him home to his pal the tsar.

is also facing potential state charges so if he wants to really avoid going to either federal or state prison he has to have a really big fish to offer up as a sacrifice.
The next question is does the fish he has to offer the type that is likely to employee assassins or have a business partner that has a history of doing so?

As usual, Professor Joyce Vance is the smartest one in the room.

He's in his "send Trump a message" mode. I believe he knows a lot about the Russian/Trump conspiracy, and is just refreshing Trump's mind about that. If Manafort cooperates with the Mueller investigation I'd be gobsmacked.

Even if Manafort makes a deal tomorrow and it includes him flipping Trump could pardon him on the spot even before he speaks with Mueller.
If Trump knows that Manafort has incriminating info/evidence on him I don't see him letting Manafort flip.

He can spend the rest of his life in a criminal level prison. No country club pokey for that bastid - he needs to experience the full measure of what happens to a treasonous lying cheeting scum.

He just wants to make a deal (pleading guilty to some charges) WITHOUT cooperating with Mueller against Trump.

Maybe he heard what Woodward wrote that Trump really thought of him and said about him behind his back.
