I now have a washing machine

full of bottled water and a dryer full of clothes I might need.
My stove is full of edibles.
At least I will know were everything is unless it gets blowed away.
I took all my bird feeders down and the birds looked so for.orn. They will just have to slum off of the patio.

Remember, Tigers like water.

I was in SC for Hugo and another one, can't remember now, so I know SC is strong.

I have family (and scads of friends) there and in NC, so I am watching this closely.

Please stay safe!

Right smack in the middle.
I haven’t flooded here before even during Matthew. It may come in and just rise. I have everything off the floor and bottom shelves.
I am readying my laundry room if I have to hide.

lived right on the Winyah Bay. Wouldn't want to be in that area of the Low Country this week. I feel for the poor or disabled folks around creeks and rivers that can't relocate. From what I'm reading, being downstream of anything in eastern SC or NC could be very bad.

Best of luck to you. Remember you have friends thinking of you constantly on DU.....

Are you near any streams, creeks or rivers?

Is your house two stories or one? Is it too late for you to leave?

The water may rise but I am not near any major stream.
Where would I go? I am 60 miles inland near a major road in the city. Unless I travel a
looooong way, there is no use going.

However, getting to them may be problematic if my building does not hold up. The laundry room is where I will be if it gets really bad.

I'm watching from Raleigh, NC on the 17th floor of a high rise apartment building. If we'd gone under a hurricane warning, I would have decamped, but we now aren't even under a tropical storm watch. Expecting wind gusts of 40 mph and 5-8 inches rain. That's doable, except I'll be trying to time the rain bands so I can take the dog out every 4-5 hours!

Hang on!

Blocks last much longer than cubes. If you freeze water in clean containers, it doubles as extra drinking water.

I see you're starting to get some serious rain now with more on the way.

Give us an update on what's going on please.

Do you have power? Are you dry? Food and water supplies OK?
