Is 11AM on the troll farms of St. Petersburg, Russia. Prime tweeting time for them, I would imagine.

(St. Petersburg is 7 hours ahead of EST, and most of Texas is 2 hours behind EST, I believe)

so, 2AM in most of Texas is 10AM in St. Petersburg, Russia, which is where I believe the most infamous troll farm is located.

1) Allied trolls in Western Europe (6-7 hours ahead of Texas ) and on the East Coast of the US (1-2 hours ahead, mostly loners, not an organized effort) will see the pro Cruz tweets and like/retweet them over the next few hours. They will in turn get retweeted again by others in Russia and Europe.

2) Texans start waking up for work and school a little while after that (5/6/7 AM Texas Time) , check their Twitter accounts and see that Ted Cruz is a top trending local topic on twitter. They check and see all these people supporting him, a pro Cruz/anti O'Rourke message appealing to the patriotism of Texans.

It does not take a huge number of tweets to become a trending topic for several hours, especially at a local level. (Even in a state as big as Texas)
