toward them can, I suppose, be logically labeled as "callousness toward brown people."

However, the truth is that the population of PR is 76% white, of European (mostly Spanish) descent.

I wonder if the federal government's response would have been better if Trump and his racist administration had realized they are not "brown people."

OTOH, the federal response to hurricanes in Florida and Texas, though far better than the response to PR, still was nothing to write home about. Hurricane victims in Florida and Texas are still suffering from the effects of the storms that hit their states.

But at least Trump doesn't continually smear the Florida and Texas victims and blame them for their own suffering, as he does to PR.

“I think Puerto Rico was incredibly successful…I actually think it was one of the best jobs that’s ever been done with respect to what this is all about…I think in a certain way, the best job we did was Puerto Rico, but nobody would understand that."
