She and her husband are in their 70's, and he is legally blind. They have weathered other bad storms but I think they are stretching their luck.
I think this is going to be a long and worry filled weekend.

My husband has been trying for days to get him to leave to no avail. We are very worried.

(82,849 posts)Old age and physical infirmity can take that decision out of a person's hands. Yeah, you're going to worry a lot. Hang in there. Get a texting/emailing schedule set up with your cousin, every three or six hours or so. Good luck, even if it does get stretched.

Their son is a police officer, and he's already on patrol. So now he has his job to do, and his parents to worry about. I'm afraid to ask if he evacuated his family.

Friends in Charleston staying too.

The next bit of good news is that Summerville is at 89 feet above sea level... we shall all hope that this is enough to be above the storm surge and rain flooding.
I hope your cousin is on a hill there.
Best wishes to them... but they should have evacuated.
