The FBI isn't looking into Kavanaugh's high school years... this may be about hush money.

Kavanaugh knew a high school girl many years ago and something happened. Unwanted advances? Abortion? Who knows, but it was a long time ago. Whatever happened is not something the FBI would investigate today.

But... we have the problem of $200K in "sports tickets" and some debts that Kavanaugh hasn't really explained.

What if the high school woman was paid hush money using the sports tickets as a way to launder the money?

Now THAT's something the FBI would want to look into.

or anything that he lied about during the background check process.

that could include something that happened when he was in high school, even if it was perfectly legal.

2. Or maybe recent threats against someone who knows about this past incident?

Seems like that might also produce present FBI concern about long-ago event. Speculation, though!

I think it's one year for misdemeanor sexual offenses.

Of course, you're right that we don't know what's happening yet.

It's almost as though they wanted it confidential, but wanted the information out to get back at Kavanaugh. Since Feinstein passed it on to the FBI, they were afraid it would be hidden and not have an effect on Kavanaugh's vote.

I still think there are many questions to be answered or explained further...particularly, on the charge cards. Who, in their right mind, would charge $200K on a charge card. Why not a bank loan unless they have some fantastic charge card that never charges interest on outstanding balances.

He's flaky and the more I see of him, the less I trust him. I'll bet his wife is having some serious thinkin' goin' on, as well. That one comment in one of the emails about not telling what he and others did on some trip...especially to spouses...would have set me off.
