Did Dem Gamesmanship force the weekend announcement and ruin Mitten's big moment?
The timing of this announcement makes no sense to me. All I can think is someone was going to blab the big news and as Friday wore on the trickle of news became a torrent and they were forced to make the announcement.
Nothing else makes sense. This could have knocked the tax story off the news pages for a couple of days but by the time Monday rolls around it will be old news. Announcing the way they did also gives all the Democrats time to work out their attacks, get their columns and their articles written and for them to have all of their big guns lined up ready to talk on Monday morning.
As always with Obama, I usually realize that he is several chess moves ahead of where I am thinking. I would not be surprised if, somehow, this was all orchestrated from the Democrats and they have managed, yet again, to take the wind out of Mitt's sails.
If this is Chicago politics, well, I like it. You can't play nice with the likes of Karl Rove and the Koch brothers. You gotta get down in the mud and beat them at their own game or you don't win.
What do all think?
