Heresy at Freeperville (re Manafort):

"He was in business with Roger Stone and he worked with Trump for nearly thirty years. He's been in business with unsavory tyrants all over the world. Many of them laundered money through New York City. There is a great deal of suspicion that up to 1600 apartment owned by Trump were used to launder Russian mafia money. Mueller most likely can get Manafort to give him Roger Stone. Stone is suspected of being the go between for Wikileaks/Putin(the GRU)/Team Trump for the hacked emails and information used to target certain voters. Remember, we're in a place where Trumpian propaganda and talk show hosts presenting sophistries no longer matter. Attacking others as Never Trumpers when you hear things you don't want to hear doesn't work in courts. Witches are going on the endangered species list. For Mueller, there are these felony convictions: 1) Mike Flynn 2) George Papadopoulos 3) Rick Gates 4) Michael Cohen 5) Paul Manafort.

Principled and thoughtful conservatives must ask themselves these questions. Why did we trust Trump? Why didn't we see that he had a sordid biography? Why did we decide that character did not matter? Why do we still pretend that everything is fine?

Trump's pick of Manafort was identified immediately as a dangerous act. None of this was unforeseeable. We need to see with our eyes and act like the truth still matters. Or allow Trump to ruin the conservative movement. The rule of law still matters. Trump's tweets won't save him."

Manafort knows nothing and he will say nothing.

He will be strong.

He could do 20 years standing on his head.

He will not flip, he will not fold, he will not talk.

Seems to me Manafort made headlines on periphery of the campaign as early as March 2016, described as a political consultant with ties to Russian states in eastern Europe or some such idea. Why did he need this guy? It was a red flag.

"Although analyses and studies by psychologists and neuroscientists have provided many thought-provoking explanations for his enduring support, the accounts of different experts often vary greatly, sometimes overlapping and other times conflicting. However insightful these critiques may be, it is apparent that more research and examination is needed to hone in on the exact psychological and social factors underlying this peculiar human behavior."

Because criminals always think they can get away with murder, they cannot foresee consequences, all they see is the goal line then they move forward.

They wanted their idiot who can handle a pen, that was their goal line, so everything around him, like his past, his associates, etc., etc. was dismissed, they collaborated in this charade, compromised themselves and now they are running scared, they are not thinking clearly and in the mean time they are enabling the idiot until they find a way to, sort of, clear themselves.
