Secretary of State Mike Pompeo doubled down on his criticism of former Secretary of State John Kerry on Saturday, accusing Kerry of "unseemly" contacts within Iran's government.
In a pair of tweets, Pompeo appeared to mock Kerry over the United State's withdrawal earlier this year from the Obama-era Iran nuclear agreement that was signed under Kerry's stewardship. In his tweets, Pompeo also accused Kerry again of "unprecedented" contact with "the worlds top state sponsor of terror."
"What @JohnKerry has done by engaging with #Irans regime, the worlds top state sponsor of terror, is unseemly, unprecedented, and inconsistent with U.S. foreign policy. The deal failed. Let it go," Pompeo tweeted.
"#JCPOA didnt stop all paths for #Iran to develop nuclear weapons, contrary to the way it was sold to the American people," Pompeo added in a second message, referring to the Iran deal.

(59,503 posts)Who to believe a top nuclear physicist or a right wing liar? Iran did not violate the deal
, the US unilaterally left it AND Iran is STILL not violating it and all of the other nations still are in.
Obama and Kerry worked hard with other countries to make the world safer. Pompeo is with Trump in making it less safe.
