Anti-gun violence statues debut across U.S. this weekend

A series of anti-gun violence statues featuring a child hiding underneath a school desk and holding onto it with fear are debuting across the country this weekend as student activists travel the country to push voters to elect leaders against gun violence, gun control group Giffords announced.

The details: The statues were made as a representation of a lockdown drill in the midst of a school shooting. There are 10 statues being deployed in congressional districts across the United States with the goal of people confronting the "reality of gun violence."

Locations include:

Parkland, Florida

Las Vegas, Nevada

Denver, Colorado

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Irvine, California

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Houston, Texas

Sarasota, Florida

Spokane, Washington
