(16,887 posts)I refuse to believe we have not learned anything in our country following the Anita Hill testimony and Clarence Thomas hearings for SCOTUS and also with the #MeToo movement....
Al Franken, an elected official was basically removed from the Senate for allegations....
Yet here is someone who is non-elected, nominated by an illegitimate President who has opening admitted on tape of sexually assaulting women, to now be confirmed in a lifetime position as a SCOTUS that will oversee women's rights and bodies?
OH HELL NO!!!!!!
The fight needs to begin and begin immediately and HARD!!!!
Kavanaugh must NOT be on the Supreme Court.....and none of us can be silent about this...no one...

(7,768 posts)It is EXPLODING! And NOT in Kavanaugh's favor!
I also read the public comments on the Washington Post article.
If those comments are any indicator, Kavanaugh is fucking TOAST!

(872 posts)Collins is hoping this will all blow over by the time she runs in 2020. Hopefully this will be the LAST Justice she ever gets to cast a vote on. She will pay, and hopefully a lot of repubs will as well.
TAKE BACK THE SENATE THIS YEAR!!

Your post exaggerates today instead of ignoring it. Very popular.

(872 posts)He was going through, even if he testified that he wanted to overturn Roe V Wade AND intended to rule that the President couldn't be subpoened.
The only way to fight these SOB's is to vote as many out of office as possible in less than 2 months, and then again in 2 years.
God bless those still fighting the fight, it's not your fault, but no matter how many calls the so-called Moderate repubs get, they are not going to change their vote. They're a CULT, and will follow their marching orders. They might as well be putting the Cyanide in the Kool Aid themselves, they don't give a shit what impact their actions will have.

(50,273 posts)a point of the rushed appointment, the charges of sexual assault and the failure to investigate them. Maybe Republicans don't want the votes of women, but we sure as hell do.

(964 posts)Kavanaugh was seriously drunk at the time he attacked Ms. Ford.
He belonged to a drinking society (with sexual overtones) while at Yale.
He ran up serious debt recently.
Does he have a drinking problem?
Also, underage drinking is illegal. Could he be called an illegal?

(804 posts)during his confirmation hearing for the Federal Appeals Court, can he be impeached if Democrats take over the House and Senate? I know it would take a 2/3 majority in the Senate to convict, but it might be worth a shot if he is confirmed.

(5,790 posts)With testimony, there is written and recorded record.
With the sexual assault allegation (well past the statute of limitations that would have been in effect at the time) there is no recording or physical evidence of which we are aware. There is a very credible story, but 30_ years later, it is he said/she said.
