Right now, the Senate Judiciary Committee has 11 Republicans and 10 Democrats.

If he were to vote for not moving ahead with Kavanaugh's nomination, the vote most likely would be 11-10 AGAINST Kavanaugh, with the 10 Democrats and 1 Republican (Flake) voting against him.

So, he has plenty of power to do something about it; however, as other have pointed out, he's usually all words and no action.
