Gallup: Trump Aprroval 18 Points Underwater in Polling's Gold Standard

I have always held Gallup up as America's polling gold standard. If I had to follow only one poll, I'd choose Gallup. That being said, Gallup's poll find's Trump at 38% Approval and 56% Disapproval: Minus 18%.

the "gold standard" in polling. 538 rates them a B pollster with a 1 point GOP lean. They made be good, but they ain't all that.

I simply posited that if I were declare a gold standard pollster, I would not go with Gallup

but the years of experience and Gallup's desire to change their system when they see some problems, encourage me. If you look at the past two years, Gallup is very much in line with the 538 national average. Maybe it's my age (I'm 66 today), but I remember when Gallup was the only polling outlet for national politics.
