also the son of the best mother any child ever had. I still miss her. With that as prologue-----
Orrin Hatch's ridiculous, simple-minded, self-serving statement supporting Kavanaugh---well, I don't want to just vomit profanity, but---any man who chooses to be THAT IGNORANT does not deserve to have a woman in his life! His condescension is exceeded only by his smarmy hypocrisy.
He damn near makes me ashamed to be male.

The Senate will be a better place when he retires.

(16,254 posts)They've never been able to give up total control of women and allow women to speak for themselves. We'll have a few more years to clean that narrow-minded belief out of this century when the bigots die off and then women can stand strong.
You know, women have never had charge of this government. Maybe it's time.

(621 posts)When we stand together as humans, without the skin tone issues, The Who loves who issues, the gender issues, the wealth issues-ALL of those issues which we fight for; when we stand shoulder to should for decency for all, we are bigger, stronge, and WAY LOUDER than any wall Trump could possibly build.

(1,177 posts)as Clayton Williams who ran against Ann Richards for Govenor of Texas in 1990. He said about rape. "It's like bad weather, if it's inevitable, just relax and enjoy it". Same
F*cked up mentality.

(238 posts)My wife of 53 years and my 50-yr-old daughter are smartass, mouthy, uppity women who take no shit from anyone. They are ricocheting off the walls with this Kavanaugh incident.
I'm staying out of the way, visiting my good friend Jack Daniels.
I will not say what I think should happen to the Republicans on the Judiciary Committee because, if I did, i'd get a visit from the Secret Service and be banned from DU.

And I realize that I come from a position of white male privledge when I call myself a feminist, but I have volunteered to be an escort at a women's clinic in South Georgia (year's ago when my roommate worked there). She really opened my eyes. If I'm not a full fledged feminist, I'm at least an ally and a steadfast supporter.
