given once in sworn statements.

He clearly enjoyed the drama.

And when push came to shove, he allowed the minority GOP to decide when the hearings would end -- BEFORE the two corroborating witnesses could testify. Because, he said, he had made a promise to the minority leader to end the hearings by a certain date, so he had to honor the promise.

That was more important than letting the two women corroborate Anita's testimony.

Millions of women will never forgive that decision, by a Democrat no less.

witnesses who were waiting to testify on her behalf was a disgrace.

He did very little to defend her, and shortchanged her testimony. Not only does Anita Hill feel that way, but Joe issued an apology to Anita Hill with what happened.

have to make her repeat all those disgusting things out loud. She had already attested to the words in sworn written statements.

But it was more dramatic to make her repeat them at the hearings.

I want his gambling problem to be a story in the MSM too. This guy has a ton of red flags. Too bad the old white man's club (AKA the GOP) is not forcing the fucking moron to have the FBI investigate him under oath. We Must have that.

WE have to do our part and call the senators non STOP! Pressure the Hell out of them.

We have to keep calling to pressure the GOP senators
both on the Judiciary Comm and the rest of them. Here is contact info...RESISTANCE WORKS!

Yeah, well it really sucks to have to see Strom Thurmond sitting up there with his old, dead, racist Dixiecrat ass. He forced himself on his half-black daughter Essie Mae Washington-Williams mother, Carrie Butler who was a 16 year old maid. This ass was a grown man of 22. That was RAPE, pure and simple of Carrie Butler who was 16 years old. My late Mom's best friend was brutally and viciously raped @ 15 by the 35 year old deputy (Oklahoma). She found that she was pregnant as a result of the rape. My late Mom told me that her friends family (7) didn't give her much support. No, they were embarrassed & shunned her MORE so because she was pregnant. What a disconnect, especially since this young girl was a victim of rape. She was so hurt. Mom said that the last time she saw her, she told Mom to please pray for her. Mom said she knew this wasn't going to end well. A few days later, her friend's body was found in a river near where she was raped. A letter inside of a Bible found under her cot said that she didn't want to embarrass/shame her family nor bring a baby into a world having to go through what she's had to go through (This was mid-1940's America). "God Bless, and I love you ALL." The family a week later, and minus 2 moved out of Oklahoma to parts unknown my Mom said, leaving still more embarrassed/ashamed by their child's rape/pregnancy than by the brutal/viscous rape/impregnation & suicide of their loving, deeply religious child--whose innocence was taken away from her one Saturday morning--by a hideously, racist animal.

My late Mom's been gone for a long time (She'd be nearing 100 if she were still alive), but everytime she thought about her own experiences of sexual assault, her childhood friend & about the baby she took with her into the river, and the shunning of her friend by her family, she cried & cried, and I held her. 27 years later, and here we are again in a familiar place. BUT, the positive thing is that there are now 4 WOMEN Dems on the Judiciary Committee: Hirono, Harris, Klobuchar and Feinstein, and hopefully the #MeToo movement is here to stay, for us women/girls and yes for men/young boys as well.

Dr. Ford won't have to go through what Anita Hill did alone. thank GOD

You know, I wasn't always the type of person I've become nearing 60 years of age in terms of positivity. BOTH of my later parents knew actual slaves, and some of what they told me about what they told them about their lives et al, unbelievably heartbreaking and in many instances sickening. I still draw strength from my late parents, and how they stayed strong throughout a nation with no civil rights and a nation where lynching was the norm and where Jim Crow ruled the south. I also draw strength that no matter where I've sometimes found myself in life, in not the greatest of places, I've always managed to FIGHT through no matter what. And, I'll fight to the very end, and I'm still standing on my feet bloody but unbowed. NEVER give up or give IN 😉There IS power in positive thinking (Yes sometimes that's difficult), and also more power in numbers, and I firmly believe that this is going to be the year of the woman but on steroids, and moving forward. I also believe that what tRump has put out there during his life will come back to him 1,000 fold, and it's not going to be pretty. Not pretty at all.

Hang in there, and hold onto your spot, wherever that spot IS wherever you are at ant given time in your life

That he sat in judgment about the experiences of Anita Hill... it's too gross for words.

I'm so sad about your mom's friend. That's utterly tragic. And hers is not the only story like that. Just think of the misery rapists and abusers have spread and propagated through society since forever. They are a contamination.

if there is a saving grace, I guess that was it. I've only seen a few minutes of video on the hearings. I wasn't sure, if the request for her to keep repeating, was to try and show how horrific Thomas's comments were...to let it sink in, or if it was done by some just to humiliate Dr. Hill.

It seemed very embarrassing for her, in front of all those men, especially with her parents and family there. I really need to read up and learn more about the hearings. But it was pretty apparent from the video, the hearing was not done in a respectful manner.

It's a shame what was done to her and that a man like Clarence Thomas replaced a great man like Thurgood Marshall.

I found a link that shows who voted for Thomas and who didn't.
