George HW Bush was the last Republican to be elected President with . . . . .

. . . . . the majority of the votes cast. And yet, the GOP owns everything. How is that possible?

Now they are ***that*** close to owning a bullet proof Supreme Court with the last two appointments made by an admitted sexual assaulter and now unindicted coconspiritor in a real crime that resulted in a guilty plea.

Talk about the tyranny of the minority!

... you said "owns everything" not "owned everything." But that's really nitpicking...

I took your "everything" to include Congress. If that wasn't your intent, I, again, apologize.

From top-to-bottom. Republicans are like termites, they destroy from within.

Republicans also hold the governorship and both state legislative chambers in Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, New Hampshire. Nebraska’s unicameral legislature is ostensibly nonpartisan, but is controlled by Republicans in practice.

Democrats hold just 15 governorships and control all three levers of government in only six states: Oregon, California, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Delaware.

Republicans control both chambers of the state legislature in Montana, Louisiana, North Carolina, Virginia and Pennsylvania, states run by Democratic governors. Democrats hold both legislative chambers in Nevada, New Mexico, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Vermont, all states run by Republican governors.

Just five states have divided legislatures, and chambers in three of those states — Washington, New York and Alaska — are governed by bipartisan coalitions.

I'm sorry to Xipe Totec for mistaking the OP for him/her.
I'm sorry to the OP for correcting him/her about the 2004 election.
I'm sorry to everyone...

I think I'll bow out now that I've thoroughly offended everyone.

that made all of this possible. The goal is to have a veto-proof supermajority operating without a thought to what the majority wants and finally their dream of a third-world banana republic can come true.

I refuse to believe they will succeed.

I will go to my grave believing that 2004 vote was flipped, all indications early that evening pointed to Kerry winning comfortably then all of a sudden it seemingly was flipped.
