In many states, a 17 year old who attempts to rape can be charged as an adult.

If convicted, they would it have to register as a sex offender and reregister as such each time they moved to a different county or state. In many ----if not most--- juridictions, they would lose their right to vote. This would be on top of any incarceration or probation.

All because of doing something seriously bad when they were 17.

Now, tell me again why "something he did as a kid" should not absolutely disqualify Kavanaugh from a lifetime appointment as one ninth of one of our three branches of government, the SCOTUS.

which from the context of the article, I assume was where this assault took place.

So never mind that it should be disqualifying for SCOTUS... he could be charged, found guilty, and imprisoned.
