Private Ganja use now legal in South Africa

https://mg.co.za/article/2018-09-18-concourt-says-yes-to-getting-high-in-private
In a unanimous judgment, the Constitutional Court on Tuesday ordered that the private consumption and cultivation of cannabis be decriminalised.

As judgment was being handed down, the court was filled with cheers of “Ganja” from the public gallery.

It has been a long journey for Garreth Prince, one of the applicants in the matter, who began his fight against the criminalisation of cannabis over two decades ago, arguing that it was inconsistent with his constitutional freedom of religion as a Rastafarian.

Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo handed down the judgement, which confirmed that sections 4(b) and 5(b) of the Drugs and Drugs Trafficking read in part with section 22(A)(9)(a)(i) of the Medicines and Related Substances Control Act were constitutionally invalid.

I can't stand cigarettes, and ganja STINKS. But it makes ZERO sense to criminalize it. I mean, it's just plain stupid.
