Tickets can be sold for quick cash and they look innocent on your credit card statement. If you need a handy reason for some unexplained extra cash (i.e. gambling winnings) you can say "Oh yeah, my buddy paid me for some baseball tickets."

I'm not saying that's what Kavanaugh did, but it could be something to look into.

but he probably had heard/knew things about him that he thought would leave him vulnerable to attack, hence the decision to bum rush the nomination and keep as much information about him secret as possible to derail any possible lines of attack- and it seemed to have been working- up to now.

Tens of thousands of documents that could be scrutinized. They were most concerned that statements he had made at previous confirmation hearings would be found to be contradicted by memos.
