Why PayPal's crackdown on ASMR creators should worry you

Between arbitrary corporate censorship, and various hate groups exploiting the "reporting process," this sort of crap I find really dispiriting.

But... My hope is for the adaption of crypto currencies for web monetization, that it will eventually eliminate these damn middle agents like paypal, visa, even patreon. And allow direct user/creator support.

JFYI, There is a new web protocol being adapted called ILP, which provides for easy payments to web sites (like even very small amounts, like fractions of a cent). Wikipedia already has it on their site if you have the right Chrome plug-in and a Coil account.

But that's another topic

Below is the latest victim of those deplorable self-styled vigilantes with their victimizing of the ASMR content creators:

In June, China banned and excised videos of sound effects while claiming to cleanse its internet of pornography. YouTube had already demonetized the genre in a sex panic; now PayPal is banning people for life and holding individuals' funds, ignorant of the facts and marching lockstep to the tune of 8chan trolls enacting a campaign to punish "whores."

The most bitter punchline in all this? A tiny percentage of the entire video genre is even remotely sexual, and those suffering — female creators — aren't even making sex content.

This past week, nonsexual ASMR video creators Sharon DuBois (ASMR Glow), Scottish Murmurs, Creative Cal, and Rose ASMR have been permanently banned from PayPal and had their funds frozen for 180 days. Like with YouTube's July censorship sweep, the women create videos of sound effects and have been expelled from the payment utility under alleged violations of the company's sexual content policy prohibitions. ASMR community websites are now warning all creators to avoid PayPal. Engadget reached out to PayPal regarding the banning of ASMR video creators, the 8chan sex-harassment campaign and how PayPal plans to protect users from this type of abuse -- but we did not hear back before publication time.

Once again...pissed that no one wants them. Really they just punish themselves by spending all day on the Internet and pissing their lives away. But whatever keeps them from procreating.

Now I stumbled onto 8chans asmr thread and mostly it is just them calling these women whores or thots. Must suck to be the biggest losers in the world.

She is a smart, multilingual, talented woman who provides quality creative content (reads stories in different languages, different triggering sounds like brushing mic, tapping, chewing [I never understand the chewing as a trigger...it drives me insane], role plays like spa sessions or fictional characters). Absolutely nothing sexual in content whatsoever...unless you are trying to make it sexual in your own mind.

I follow several women ASMR artists...the amount of work they put into their videos is amazing and I support a few via Patreon.

This shit pisses me off.
