I wrote my Senator, Bill Cassidy, from Louisiana regarding Kavanaugh. Here is his response to me.

I did mention to him the issue about his possible attempted rape in high school. The response is below:

"Thank you for writing me about President Trump's nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh as a nominee for the position of Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.

Judge Kavanaugh is a well-respected, independent-minded adjudicator with a proven track record as a judge who will apply the law as written and enforce the text, structure, and original understanding of the Constitution. He is a graduate of Yale Law School and was a law clerk to Justice Anthony Kennedy, the man whose seat he has been nominated to fill. Judge Kavanaugh has 12 years of experience on the D.C. Appellate Court bench where the Supreme Court has endorsed his opinions more than a dozen times. His opinions have been cited by more than 210 judges across the country. The American people will be well served by an eminently qualified, fair-minded jurist. I’m looking forward to the Senate confirmation process this fall and I anticipate that Judge Kavanaugh will be confirmed .

It is the President’s Constitutional responsibility to nominate judges to the Supreme Court and it is my responsibility as a senator to give my advice to the President about his nominees and consent to the choice he has made to serve on the Supreme Court.

I will continue to represent the views of my state and do so through hearing from constituents like you. Please continue to reach out, either by phone or by email, when you have another question or concern. You can reach my office in Washington DC at 202-224-5824 or submit an email at http://www.cassidy.senate.gov/contact .

Sincerely,
Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D."

However, Cassidy did NOT in that case do his job, which was to advise and consent. He failed in his job.
