Otherwise what we are looking at is an ambush hearing in which a Republican controlled attack is all but guaranteed. In no way will anyone consider the hearings legitimate without the validity of an FBI background investigation.
With a proper background investigation in place truth has a chance of being heard. There is a very specific reason the republicans dont want the FBI to do a background investigation on this. Lying to the FBI is a Federal crime. Even the most stalwart friends of Kavanaugh will think twice about lying for him knowing the potential consequences. His drunken wonder buddy, Mr. Judge, is already heading for the hills.

If the Dr doesnt testify on Monday, the GOP will move to vote
And Roe vWade will be overturned by a sexual predator president and SC Justice rapist

(10,126 posts)as the GOP have it laid out now, it will be her word against his and even if she testifies, to use your words:
".... the GOP will move to vote
And Roe v Wade will be overturned by a sexual predator president and SC Justice rapist"
Her efforts will be fruitless anyway, whether she testifies or not, if there is no FBI investigation and no other witnesses are called.
Her lawyers are smart. They see Anita Hill II and are at least trying to take a stand to get a different outcome that will never come with her testimony alone.

(10,126 posts)Doing what she is doing might (unlikely but might) tip the media to pressure them. (I doubt it but some shot is better than almost none)
The GOP will suffer some consequences in the midterms if they dodge her.
