We need to pay attention. This is important.

HRC warned that our democracy is being subverted and could fall to an authoritarian government.

Authoritarianism means either dictator-type government or fascism, probably continuing to pretend to be a democracy but not, like Russia.

Hillary: "...we have an election, and it's an election that could not be more critical to ending any continuing threat from authoritarian tendencies."

She chose to just focus on Trump and the need to vote for a Democratic-controlled congress to act as a check on him. But the Republicans put or kept in congress are every bit as bit a threat, as is authoritarian control of the Supreme Court.

We must have control of congress to stop them.

COUNTDOWN TO MIDTERMS: 47 days.

clear my head and proceed again with clarity.

I put my trust in our Democratic leaders, the citizenry who have always been in the know without blinders, the ones who are beginning to see the light. There are many more of us than them and will continue to surpass the detriment by the numbers.

Professing a strong belief in the Almighty is also a 'vehicle' that keeps me on the level. I'm nothing special by saying this.

The force of 'good' always victorious in the end.

But of course the end sometimes has to wait for the kinds who've taken over our right to finish taking whole nations down in the process of their own self destruction.

And we do advance overall, but some eras see great losses instead.

Among other things, I worry about unprecedented abilities to control. This time last century 80% of households at least grew some food and most lived within some reach of water. We can't live in modern houses without electricity, and when you consider climate change extremes... Many tens of millions live where life is poorly sustainable without electricity. People don't just suffer and get well or die naturally when they get sick, they must have medical care and most will do almost anything to get it. Cameras and other surveillance that can be turned against us by enemies are everywhere. No saying when and how we might get control back again and how many would die before.

Happy thoughts. But I agree that together we outnumber them in large numbers. As long as we have the vote, they'd play hell oppressing any but small groups, and we can come together to fix whatever blind ignorance is currently allowing to happen. Above all, though, we really are seeing big change this year as more are becoming aware of what's happening on the right. I think we'll get through this.

As for worry, though, I know what you mean. Unfortunately, I'm not a person of faith and envy those who have that very large view and comfort. I had one mild anxiety attack once, several years ago, and even that limited experience suggested I should take care to avoid them as we approach November 6. Trouble breathing, which made me understand how people end up in the ER. I googled, though, and apparently diphenhidramine (Benadryl) is a mild anxiolytic, as long as you don't mind getting knocked out, and we have it in the cabinet.

Here's to voting and saying a big goodbye to any need for a resistance.

That's primarily it and I think it played on sexism and a sense of illegitimacy in people feeling that her husband placed her in power as an extension of him. If you sample 25 years of talk radio/Faux News/right wing internet portrayal of her, the hate is understandable, but it's depressing the degree to which people can be led and not simply listen to the woman and make an independent judgement.

Obama wasn't perfect but Trump is an abomination. A boomerang. But I also trust that our institutions can and will hold up. Trump is in Mueller's crosshairs. Even if the investigation is shut down, Trump faces indictment and prosecution when he leaves office. He will leave and the nation will hold. Stay strong, my friend. You're not alone.

by the enormous difference in quality of people that have been offered to American citizens by the Democratic party since 2000 and what we ended up with instead. Al Gore? George Bush. John Kerry? George Bush. Thank goodness Barack Obama prevailed. Hillary Rodham Clinton? Donald Trump.

The world is not a better place when Republicans are in charge. We must take back the House in November--and it sure would help to take the Senate, too--and then the Democrats MUST get to work immediately to stop the dismantling of our democratic institutions and address the major issues facing the country and world.

Sorry I missed the chance to listen to that interview.
Aside from the Fox noise and hate-radio addicted zombies totally sold that Donald Trump is still some great savior, among most reasonable citizens:
The Re-ugly-cans have never held a more despicably hornswaggling term in office in recent history I can recall. Their terms have always been embarrassing debacles from Nixon on, ones I thought the country would surely learn their lessons from.
But Holy Cannoli, Batman, this has gone beyond what a few words can adequately describe.
Surely a committed GOTV effort will restore half a modicum of reason. Surely many who thought a good economic housecleaning of the gub'mint have figured out by now Fox Noise has been lying to them all along, and Trump will turn out to be the one-term squall that splatters mud all over the likes of Mitch McConnell's "we want President Obama to be a one - term president"-ism.
Yes, a double term of Hillary would have been better for countless reasons by now, countered by the same angry rants, the same mud slinging only more of it from the RWNJ networks. Such media would have found some sort of house of cards to build on Hillary Clinton, with an facade of legitimacy.
If we can hold this up to the Republicans for decades to come as an example of their idiotic platform ideals, and as scientific and environmental problems worsen exponentially, as our needs to heed basic facts rather than living in the continued pretentiousness all started under RayGun.
Oh, brothers and sisters, there will never be more mud and pollution all over the Pathological Liar Party to reveal them for what they are:
Swindlers, Crooks, Puppets and nothing more.
