What Goes Around Comes Around

We all know that Trump is going to be taken down by Mueller’s investigation – which in turn means that the Republicans will be desperate to distance themselves from the Putin asset they elected to the Oval Office.

In other words, Republicans will soon be in Professor Ford’s position – claiming they were assaulted by Trump, and having to explain why they didn’t speak up in a timely manner.

I think the narrative will go something like this:

“We went along with him because he seemed like a really nice guy. Sure, we heard he had a questionable past – mob connections, shady business deals, refusal to pay debts – but we ignored the warning signs and elected him anyway. We figured that those things happened in the past and shouldn’t have any relevance, because people can change.

When the abuse started, it seemed so innocuous that we hardly noticed. He gave classified information to the Russians, he appointed inept, corrupt people to Cabinet posts and positions of power. We knew he was lying to the citizenry, but we believed he wasn’t lying to us – especially when he said he wasn’t involved with Putin (long rumoured to be his “main squeeze”) – and foolishly accepted his declarations that we were the only object of his affections.

We would have spoken out – but he turned up the volume on his tweets, and put his hand over our mouths in order to silence us. We feared for our political lives, and maintained our silence in a desperate attempt to survive.

We appreciate the fact that some people will question why we didn’t come forward sooner. The truth is that we feared we wouldn’t be believed.

We are no different than any woman who has been battered and abused, and is reluctant to put herself out there to be further battered and abused by being subjected to unseemly questions – i.e. What were you wearing when the “pResident” allegedly screwed you? Did you send “signals” that you were willing to be screwed, such as acting provocatively when your “pRresident” stood on the world stage in Helsinki and sided with Putin rather than his own intelligence community? Did you scream NO! when your would-be rapist locked migrant children in cages, and declared that white supremacists and KKK members were “very fine people”?

You can see our dilemma – how we were literally forced to keep quiet under the threat of being publicly humiliated if we made our molestation known to all. We had no choice but to sit in silence as our “pResident” insulted our allies, and praised people like Putin and Kim Jung-Un.

We had no alternative but to stand with our abuser while he fucked the middle-class with his tax-reform bill, while he took steps to destroy our environment, while he declared that all non-white countries were shitholes, while he disparaged our judicial system, the FBI, the CIA, and called journalists “fake news”.

We would have spoken up sooner – but we’re speaking up now. Doesn’t that count for anything?”

When Trump goes down – as he inevitably will – the GOP will claim to have been innocent victims of a political predator who somehow forced them to stay silent as he sought to destroy our democracy.

They simply have no other alternative for explaining what they have supported, what they have enabled, and all they have chosen to ignore.

I believe Professor Ford, who has agreed to subject herself to public scrutiny in order to be heard. What I will never believe is the Republicans who will inevitably claim they were unwittingly fucked up the ass by a known ass-fucker, and somehow never knew the ass-reaming – of themselves and of the country – was happening while it occurred.

Once the midterms are over and the damage assessed, watch for the GOP's sudden desire to be seen as unwitting accomplices of Putin's bitch, and hapless victims of a "pResident" who somehow fooled them all.

especially among their leadership, are going to have to work doubly hard to pretend that they haven't been willing accomplices. "Follow the money" will be the anthem of their political demise.

I have tried to be a good person, but at this point those mobsters need to be taken down any way we can.

After hearing Doctor Ford insulted, even called a 15 year old slut because she went to a party where there was drinking.

The fact that 2 drunken 17 year olds tried to molest her makes her at fault?

Watching Hatch and Grassley yesterday defend Kavenaugh, knowing they bad mouthed Anita Hill, too made me angry enough to tell them what I thought of them. That also goes for the women who are defending Kavanaugh!

They do not deserve my respect, they are not going to get it!
