Eric Holder: Trump releasing docs on Russia probe is 'dangerous abuse of power'

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/407214-eric-holder-trump-releasing-docs-on-russia-probe-is-dangerous-abuse

Former Attorney General Eric Holder called President Trump's decision to declassify a range of documents related to the Russia investigation is a "dangerous abuse of power."

"This is an especially dangerous abuse of power by this President," Holder tweeted Tuesday. "He places his self interest above the national security interests of the country."

The criticism from Holder, who served as attorney general during the Obama administration, comes just a day after Trump ordered the declassification of a set of sensitive documents tied to the Russia probe.

The order makes public classified parts of a surveillance application that gave the FBI the ability to monitor former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. In addition, text messages tied to the investigation into Russia's election interference from top federal officials such as former FBI Director James Comey will become public.

Next up, he will declassify documents from your tenure, and that of President Obama. It's as clear as the smoke from the wild fires in California where these Russian enabling traitors are headed.

For trump to declassify what has state secrets on how the investigations is being conducted and who all they are investigating that would make it an illegal order in my estimation.

Classification and declassification power is an absolute Presidential power. As President, trump has authority to declassify what he wants.

...by redacting certain documents anyway. At least somebody is taking adult responsibility in this.

He can either accept them or not. Ultimately the agencies must declassify what ever is ordered, with whatever level of redaction trump wants. They can suggest and request redactions, but they have to do as ordered.

By abusing his powers to hurt anyone who doesn't bow down to his demands. Abuse of power to protect himself is obstruction of justice, which he will be finding out soon enough. He'll threaten everyone in this country soon.
