it's enough to know that they have been called to testify and that they're being intimidated out of appearing.

(56,828 posts)Tribe was also saying that the investigation into the harassment would then lead to an investigation into the original rape allegation.
Asha, who is also liberal, a former FBI agent and lectures at Yale, says that the way the FBI works, the harassment/death threats and hacking/doxxing would be investigated, but she did not see any way that it would lead to the FBI also investigating the rape allegations, which she felt was a Maryland Law Enforcement issue.

(13,776 posts)Couldn't they just start an investigation because they have reason to believe that a crime was committed? Or if not the FBI, the AG of Maryland? Or somebody? Who decides whether or not to investigate a sexual assault on a person whose (alleged) attacker isn't a nominee for the Supreme Court?
