Jaroslav Bobrowski knows a good deal when he sees one. Accordingly, an all-you-can-eat offer at one sushi restaurant is no longer available to him.
The triathlete follows a special diet in which he fasts for 20-hour periods. So when he does sit down for dinner, he tries to make up for lost time.
But after devouring a staggering 100 plates at the Running Sushi restaurant in Landshut, Germany, as part of its $26 buffet deal, the restaurant declared him persona non grata.
"When I went to the checkout, I wanted to tip, but the waiter did not want to accept that. I'm banned from now on because I'm eating too much. I was stunned," the 30-year-old Iron Man competitor said.

(31,261 posts)Sad that a person would be that thoughtless and immoral. The restaurant did the right thing.

And come back any time!

Occasionally I scored all you can eat crab legs, but that deal doesn't come up anymore. Red Lobster got into trouble with a similar proposal years ago.
http://theweek.com/speedreads/567777/endless-crab-could-have-bankrupted-red-lobster
Red Lobster's tactical error was underestimating just how many times customers would request another crab plate during a single visit. "It wasn't the second helping [of crab], it was the third that hurt, said Joe Lee, CEO of parent company Darden Restaurants, on a call with investors. "And the fourth," said Red Lobster president Dick Rivera.

(31,261 posts)I despise people like him, the cheap meal, cheap deal types. All they give a shit about is getting as much as they can get for as little as they can pay.
I honestly don't go to all you can eat places because I am a very normal eater who stops at one serving. I have been in them by accident or with groups, but I only took one serving because that is how I eat.

(22,143 posts)2 plates at the most for me, maybe 3 for other. Thing is, is if too many eat too much such as this one guy did (100), he's kind of taking the buffet from the rest of us, that is, some places can't stay in business and support this kind of customer, and the rest of us don't have a buffet to go to anymore.
That's the issue I have w/ 'eat all you want'...some abuse it.

I mean, how many people are gonna eat that much... not bloody many.

(6,843 posts)This guy thinks this is okay? In Korea, most places put a 90 minute rule on all you can eat.
He made a fucking glutton of himself. Why do we always have to play on technicalities?

When I'm in really good shape I can down food like you would believe.

(54,410 posts)"All we think you have any business eating"
We once ate at a famous (locally, anyway) all you can eat Sunday brunch in a small town in Maine that had assembly line freshly made crepes, 5 different kinds of bread, 10 different kinds of cake, salads, fruits, various kinds of meat and sausages, about 5 different kinds of fish and UNLIMITED lobster (!!!!!). All drinks, hot and cold, included. Any place else, we would have expected a $150 per person bill. Nope: $26.95 per person.
They told us when we got there (we were there for a ship christening, knew nothing about the brunch) to reserve well in advance for the Sunday brunch. HUH? What brunch? They said, oh you aren't here for that? Most people come for that. We found out why. I'll bet even Jaroslav Bobrowski would have walked out of there without even raising an eyebrow (and full!).

20 hours is a fast???
I'd bet everybody here has gone 20 hours without food, were highly physically active, then just ate normally.
Those numbers don't seem right.

(63,221 posts)I like sushi, but that's pretty gluttonous. I think about the maximum I could down would be 5 plates and that would be if I was starving.
It doesn't sound healthy to fast and binge like that.
