I disagree with them on many aspects of how to achieve the many goals we have in common; and I disapprove strongly where beliefs and goals diverge too far, but even there was usually some justification for their positions, even if I believed strongly outweighed by other considerations.

True, for some years Kristol like others crossed the line deep into the dark side, "intellectualizing" outrageous lies about us and providing excuses for what should never be excused, in an effort to maintain some influence and not become irrelevant.

They didn't fall to the dark side, though, and have finally given up battling to regain control from its inside. As we are seeing.

An ageless, practical quote - that too often gets beat up on this forum.

The earliestknown expression of the concept is found in a Sanskrit treatise on statecraft, as Arthastra, which dates to the 4th Century, B.C.'

Cavemen were far more intelligent and reasonable.
