Don't forget: Rachel Maddow will be on MTP at 9am today (Sunday Aug 12)

What exquisite timing for one of Rachel's way-too-infrequent appearances on MTP. Maybe she'll keep David Gregory from going too far to his right, as he so often does.

I know Rachel will be on because she said so at the end of her Friday MSNBC show.

Below is today's line-up at all my favorite Sunday talk shows.

"The decision is in: Representative Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin is Mitt Romney’s running mate. After the announcement on Saturday, Mr. Romney kicked off a bus tour with Mr. Ryan, and the Sunday talk shows will be discussing what the pick means for the presidential race. By Saturday afternoon, the programs were filling up their guest lists with advisers and representatives from both campaigns, eager to frame the discussion. ...

NBC's Meet the Press will ... feature coverage of Mr. Romney's No. 2 pick.

TWWGS

Tim Pawlenty, the former Minnesota governor who was considered a likely choice to be Mr. Romney’s vice-presidential pick, will be on ABC's This Week, along with David Axelrod, senior adviser to the Obama campaign.

SOTU

Mr. Axelrod is also scheduled to appear on CNN's State of the Union, along with Ed Gillespie, senior adviser to the Romney campaign, and Senator John Thune of South Dakota, who some believed had been on Mr. Romney's list of potential running mates.

FTN

Stephanie Cutter, President Obama's deputy campaign manager, and Eric Fehrnstrom, a senior adviser to the Romney campaign, will give their views on the Republican vice-presidential pick on CBS's Face the Nation. They will be joined by Newt Gingrich, the former House speaker and Republican presidential candidate.

FNS

Fox News Sunday will have Senator John McCain of Arizona, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, discussing Mr. Ryan. Mr. McCain, the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, will also discuss developments in Syria and Iran. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, will share her thoughts on the state of the presidential race...."

she particularly outshines David Gregory (can't figure out how
he got to the head of the table...)

Rachel should be the moderater of that show,
no one holds a candle to her as far as
intellectual depth, knowledge
and the ability to hone in on a minor, miniscule detail
invisible to everyone else, and she grabs that morsel
and all of a sudden: light!

his predecessor. Tim Russert was extremely close to his mentor, Senator "Benign Neglect" (Daniel Patrick Moynihan, DINO-NY). Russert really knew how to go to his right. Rachel is too ethical to suppress her strongly progressive opinions to boost ratings by promoting false equivalency between Democratic Party progressive goals and "rube-bait" for the politics of corporate and plutocratic greed.

she is frequently drowned out on shows like that. Gregory and other hosts rarely give her the time to make her points.

If she were given the time to make her points, she would shame them all - including Gregory - with her command of the facts.

Had planned to skip MTP as I often do, thanks to it's (usually) right wing slant. Guess I'll watch today though.

the talking Bobblehead shows years ago-- after I saw they were giving a free
pass every single time to uber criminals like cheney, etc., when they
appeared on these shows.

I don't have time to waste on bullcrap.
