Barbershop Owner Apologizes For Hanging Colin Kaepernick Doll From A Noose

PLACERVILLE (CBSLA) — A Northern California barbershop owner is apologizing after an image of a Colin Kaepernick doll hanging from a noose was posted online.

A man identified only as Joseph (said), “They got Colin Kaepernick hanging from a noose.”

The owner, who is known as “Bowtie Barber,” said he had the doll has been hanging in his shop since 2016, when the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback first took a knee during the national anthem, igniting a firestorm.

The barber has taken down the doll, and he says he would like to apologize to Joseph.

Identifying himself to the media and known on Facebook and in person as “Bowtie Barber,” he told Fox 40 on Thursday: “I literally had no idea that I was offending people.”

These comments led to outrage, before and after he issued an apology. Many social media responses called him a racist, saying they did not think it possible for the barber not to realize the would have been offensive.

In making his acolytes feel more comfortable into shedding their fake persona and embracing their hidden racist side.

Which in the big scope of things, I believe is a great thing. Systemic institutionalized racism has always been a bitch to shine a light on, or go, "look, that racist!". Now, with them feeling more comfortable, they are getting bolder. They are also being outed and dealt with, whether as BBQ Beckies, or Bowtie Barbers.
