by Josh Feldman | Sep 22nd, 2018, 3:50 pm
Congressman Paul Gosar has now responded to his six siblings who have come out publicly to endorse his opponent.
Gosar, an Arizona Republican who made conspiratorial claims about Charlottesville last year, is running for re-election against Democrat David Brill.
And not only are six of Gosars own siblings endorsing Brill, theyre appearing in ads for him.
Well, now Gosar himself has responded in a series of tweets calling them six angry Democrat Gosars and saying Stalin would be proud.

(5,167 posts)but this ad doesn't feel good to me.
Family divisiveness is bad enough in itself, but a public display such as this gives me a bad taste in my mouth.
If I were a parent of this brood, and I agreed with the majority, I'd still feel bad that this breach happened in my family.
I hope Paul Gosar loses and just goes away.

(16,188 posts)a representative with any merit would say, "the hell with what my siblings have to say, this is how I feel about the issues they brought up".
But no, that will never happen, and it seems like it will never happen anywhere in this country. Dammminnnt, it's not about the representative class, it's supposed to be about US.

(1,975 posts)But I think that this is the only way to get our point across. Whether it's to friends, friends on Facebook, and even family. The time of skirting around these issues with them is over. I myself have cut ties with friends and family who support Trump and his racist ideologies.
Its time to just come ut and be blunt. If a black man kneeling to protest racial disparities and abuse bothers you or makes you mad....you are a racist, bottom line. I would no sooner become friends with Klan members, so why am I holding my tongue around with the issues? I no longer do. I have explained myself in the most logical way possible;e, if you still don't see this whole republican party as racists, misogynistic, abusers, with no empathy. Then we can not be friends.
Of course, this and $2.00 might get you a cup of coffee, and your mileage will vary. This is of course, is how I feel and now see these issues.

(31,261 posts)But 6 very firm against 1, something is badly wrong with that 1. The 6 sounded like very thoughtful people also. They didn't appear to be angry or out for revenge.

This is a pretty good representation of the Dems vs. Republicans debate these days. I think our side comes out looking pretty good.
