Just testing a theory. We had a Republican door knocker come by the community and he left my house disappointed. I told him he could leave material if he had Democratic candidates and thanked him and sent him on his way when he said they were all Republican.
So, when I left the house this afternoon I noticed that the guy across the street had three Republican signs out in his yard. I know that the last time I put a sign on the yard it disappeared, because this isn't allowed by the HOA documents. Now, anyone who has followed my HOA rants knows that my Association is off the charts with crooked activity that goes back to the nineties. Lots of crony, good ole boy abusive power grabs, while the rest of us get slapped like they still have the authority to take us to court for abusing documents that have been so trashed that you couldn't recognize the plats the way they were intended. It's just something I don't want to legally challenge right now because you don't know how far their networks reach.
But I don't mind trying a little test with the yard signs. What I'm wondering is, if I could get some signs from Democratic candidates and display them on my yard, will they disappear? While the neighbor across the street gets to display his?
Anyone who knows where I can get free Democratic signs to display on my yard, here in Central Florida let me know. It will be a fun exercise.

I am not sure about elsewhere.

(22,166 posts)being taken by those who had signs up for their opponents. In some parts of rural MO, it was absolutely crazy for anyone to put up a sign for an opponent of a republican...crazy. You do have the right to express your own voter preferences just as they do. I don't know if they'll take a potential case in the event you catch someone, but it is a crime in MO to do so, perhaps where you are at they have something similar.
Good luck and stand firm!

People here have come up with some good ideas in the past.
Anyway, take pictures of his yard, and forward them to the president of the HOA asking if that rule of theirs has been revokedl because you want to participate.

(34,137 posts)The local Democratic Party may not have signs, but the candidates should. If they have a high demand they may ask for a contribution so they have the funds to make more.
Please let us know how it goes!
