is what will win or lose the election for us

(8,933 posts)the proper papers to get an id. The ryan pick may be bad one on the face of it, but that is why there are many states making it harder for seniors, college students and the poor to cast that vote.

(28,151 posts)Beyond promoting awareness of the voter ID requirements, what can the DNC do while also helping with literally hundreds of elections?
Do state and local parties bear any of the responsibility to inform and assist voters?

(103,856 posts)until then, we will lose "close" elections over and over until there is no possibility of ever GETTING control in the foreseeable future.
We are sniffing fairy-dust if we think the republicans will EVER stop trying to eliminate our voters.
We waste money & time at our own peril if we do not get ahead of them, and just get people the damned IDs in the FIRST place and then go to court/whine/stamp our feet/hold our breaths.
They are aggressive and relentless....they know the end result they want.. we are always in a defensive mode scrambling at the 11th hour trying to catch up.
They scrawled the handwriting on the wall (with bright red paint) in Nov-Dec 2000, so it's been TWELVE years now, and we are still reacting..
We either figure out a way to get ALL our voters iron-clad, drop-dead IDs so their eligibility is NEVER questioned again, or we continue to lose close (and desperately needed) elections.
If we EVER get back to an undisputed majority again (don't count on it anytime soon) we can "change the rules", but having valid IDs will certainly help people who did not have them, so for the "people" it's a win-win.
People who are anti ID, should resign themselves to never have a bank account, go to school, buy anything with a credit card, never buy a car or home or have a phone or much of anything. MOST of us are overly IDed already, and many are "trackable" by their phones & onStar.
